Today, March 14, people across the U.S. will celebrate an icon of nerd culture: the number pi. So well-known and beloved is pi, also written π or 3.14, that it has a national holiday named in its honor. And it’s not just for mathematicians and rocket scientists. National Pi Day is widely celebrated among students, teachers, science fans and now tea lovers too.
A celebration without food is not a celebration. On this day, eat foods that start with “Pi.” Why not start with actual pies? Pizza and pineapples, or pineapples on top of pizza are other examples of Pi foods. You can go a step further by measuring the diameter and circumference of the pizza pies and regular pies before they eat them.
Here are Suggestion for Pi-Themed Foods: Pineapple, Pizza, Pickles,Pinto Beans and Pimento Cheese Sandwiches.

We have posted a recipe for old-fashioned pineapple pie on the website. Pineapple Pie Recipe

This pie crust was perfect until I broke it removing the hot pie from the oven! Still tastes wonderful.
