Belleek Pottery Ltd. is a porcelain company that began in 1884 in Belleek, County Fermanagh, in what was to become Northern Ireland.
The iconic Shamrock design, with its basket weave was first created in the late 1800’s. The simplicity of the pattern is based on the weave used in wickerwork baskets, once a common feature of both town and country. The design also cleverly uses the stems of the shamrocks to shape such features as the handles and details of the design.
The mark on this cup and saucer reveals it was made between 1955 and 1965.
Both the cup and saucer are in excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks or crazing.
