Hummingbird Cake was created in Jamaica and the recipe made its US appearance in 1978 in an issue of Southern Living magazine and went up to become the magazine’s most requested recipe… ever.

This beloved Southern cake typically has two or three layers with pecans, mashed ripe bananas, canned crushed pineapple, and a sweet cream cheese frosting.

You can enjoy the sample delicious flavor in your cup… without all the work of baking and guilt-free without all the calories.

This has very quickly become my favorite everyday morning tea. I usually skip breakfast, and I generally like teas that are delicious without having to add any cream, sugar, etc.
Hummingbird cake (to me) taste like biting into a fresh piece banana bread and satisfies my breakfast sweets cravings. I now keep a stash of it at work, as well as at home.
